  1. Account type  U.S.
  2. A brief description of the business: Managed IT Services Provider
  3. A high level description of the product or feature being requested: Allow glip to be replaced with a Slack integration
  4. A typical use case scenario explaining how your business would use the feature: Users could use the RingCentral app with Slack instead of glip.
  5. Benefit of such feature: Some customers have integrations with other customers on slack already and have a RingCentral seat. This would allow centralization of both features and propel RC forward in the industry by integrating with an industry standard in company chat solutions.
  6. Number of Users and/or Digital Lines: ~200

Seeing as RingCentral purchased Glip and has since started making it their central application this does not seem too likely at first thought.

But- I do agree it would be good to have a tight integration with Slack and one could argue that this is  a good idea for RingCentral in the long run because Slack users (of which there are many more than RC users, I think) that are considering using RIngCentral for voice would not hesitate if they knew there was an option of using a quality integration with Slack.

Hello! please see details on our Slack integration here:
https://www.ringcentral.com/blog/2017/10/transform-your-slack-experience-with-the-new-ringcentral-in...

We'll continue to improve it over time, we understand some customers may prefer Slack over Glip - thats totally fine with us :)

While we have no plans to do this ourselves, we have looked at integrating with message.io that bridges communications between platforms using APIs.  Would something like this interest you:

That is really interesting as an option. Would this be included in our RC account or would we be expected to pay for all 3 services (RC, Slack, MIO)?

To my understanding Slack has an extensive API that your team could just as easily implement into your own software. Why not go down that path?

Hi Fogg, for discussions about having a program integrate with RC the way you're talking, our Developer Community would be the place to go :)

Thanks Saadet, honestly I appreciate the fact that you guys are accepting information from the public but I have about a dozen and a half things to do other than figure out where exactly to put requests for RC improvements. I am already frustrated enough that I can't even make recommendations to anyone at RC and get diverted here but then to get told I need to publish in yet a different place? Nope. Not going to do it. You guys figure it out internally.

Saadet, MIO is an out-of-the-box integration that would need to be integrated by RingCentral. It's not an API / developer integration.

Moving this back to the General Community as this is an out-of-the-box feature request.
