Customize Ring Tones Based on Number, Line, Queue etc.

Clients often ask if they can get a distinctive ring tone when people call internally, or when people from the outside call a particular number, or when they are receiving a transferred call. Most of my clients are using the Cisco 504G phones. There is an option on those phones to select a different tone for Ext 1, 2, 3, or 4. However, I don't know how to get RingCentral to utilize calling that particular extension on those phones. My only thought is that I would have to setup a different RingCentral user for each extension, but I thought engineering might be able to utilize this part of the phones features to allow distinctive rings.

Please let me know if this is something on the roadmap or if there is a reason it isn't possible with RingCentral.

I would also love to have this feature!! So if I'm at the end of the hall and I don't hear my ring type then I can continue with what I'm doing!

My company uses multiple main office numbers that ring to our front desk phone and it would be very helpful to have a feature such as multiple ringtones, with the ability to change the ringtone for our different office numbers. This would greatly increase our screening process before we even answer the phone. Has this been discussed previously in another post or is it in the works as a future update?

It would be helpful to be able to set up the physical desk phones with a separate ringtone for different incoming calls based on the call type:
  1. Incoming queue call
  2. Direct dial number/direct dial extension

The problem we are trying to solve: We have our system set up to ring through a series of different people to attempt to allow us to answer as many incoming calls as possible with a person. 
However what this ethos has lead to is when our people who are in line to answer the phone step away from their desk, other people have started 'helping' by answering that ringing phone and are picking up calls direct to that extension not picking up queued calls. 

If these different types of calls had different rings, it would be easier to identify the calls that should not be picked up by other people. 

It also allows additional call identification for people who do not  use the soft phone/computer application.

being able to distinguish between internal, external, queue calls, and direct number dialed calls would be a great and welcomed addition i think. being able to adjust any or all would be a step in the right direction. lets keep this post relevant and make sure the RC programmers see it.

This would also be very beneficial for our company. We have a general line number that rings all employees to help out with general requests, but also personal calls from clients. If I could tell whether something was personally to me versus the company at large, it would make an immense difference.
Our office really needs to have a different ring for when we are making peer to peer calls.

Please / Please / Please - Ring Central - clearly there is enough demand and need for this feature for it to be on the short list.  As you have said, this is your code on the back-end, so there is nothing stopping you from implementing this except time and effort.  Please make this happen.

When will this feature be available....a separate ring tone for any 800# or business # for an adroid or IP. It would be nice to know if it's a business call prior to answering the phone

Many of my RingCentral customers have requested the ability to distinguish between internal and external calls.  Hopefully we hear from RC soon about adding this feature.
