After using RC desktop app for a month, the headset stopped working in the app. Upon further investigation Windows 7 can use the headset with no problems with other VoIP services. In Ring Centrals desktop app audio settings, the app does not recognize the headset, only the internal PC speakers. Unusual problem since it worked for a month and nothing has changed.

HI Brady, your headset should work with Win 7 without a problem. We'll just need to figure out where the setting(s) need changed.  First, can you tell us if it's a USB or 3.5mm plug?

When you go to Settings > Audio do you see the device in the drop-down similar to this screenshot?

Can you confirm that you are using v 7.5.2 ?

The OS will typically recognize the device when it's plugged in but I've seen many cases where the PC just needs to be restarted, or perhaps it might need a new driver for the USB device.

Currently we are using a USB device headset. The drivers are up to date, the USB ports have updated drivers as well. Your screen shot is where I do not see the headset, for speaker and ringer drop down. However in the win7 audio settings the headset shows up and works; it is set as a default.

Are you not seeing the drop-down at all, or just not seeing the device listed in the drop-down?

What make and model is the headset? For example Plantronics wireless devices need to have their hub software installed.

@Brady what operating system are you using? Note: Windows 10 is still in Beta.
