Ring Central Phone app won't launch

We are new customers of Ring Central and we use Amazon Workspaces for our office computers. We recently upgraded some Workspaces to "Windows 10" which is actually Windows Server 2016. We were able to install the Ring Central Phone app but it would not open. There was an error in Event Viewer stating that "Application popup: Softphone.exe - System Error : The program can't start because wlanapi.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I researched and found that I needed to add the Feature using Server Manager "Wireless LAN Service" and after the reboot the Phone app now launches and works. Maybe for future releases of the Phone App it can check during setup if the Feature or Service is install and enable if needed.

Hey Tim. We found the same thing, however, we're having an issue where calling is unavailable. Texting/Messaging features work fine. Did you have any type of issue like this?

Hi Hernan,

Were you able to try Tim's workaround of adding the Feature using Server Manager "Wireless LAN Service" ? After the reboot the Phone app should launch and work.
