This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Uniform meeting ID with Ring Central APP and Google Chrome Plug-In.

Meetings set with Google Chrome Plug-in use a random meeting number while the Meetings Apps on the MAC will use the meeting number that you set in the RC portal. Most of our users will be using the Google Chrome plug-in to schedule meetings and this plug in should us the default meeting ID that you set in the portal and not a random number. Why set a meeting number in the portal if it is not going to be used everywhere all the time. This is just so illogical I am dumbfounded as to why it was done this way. Why wouldn't you make it uniform across the board?

Zoom Video Conferencing chrome plugin does in fact have this feature, so I do not know why RingCentral didn't include it in their Meetings chrome plugin!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Chrome OS/ChromeBook - Start RingCentral Meeting with Personal Meeting ID (PMI).

Account Type: US

Business is a multi-location home builder that utilizes RingCentral meetings extensively and has a large investment in ChromeOS devices, primarily Chromebooks. We have approximately 220 users.

The RingCentral Meetings for Chrome OS application does not allow for the user to start a RingCentral Meeting using their Personal Meeting ID.  It is also cumbersome to join a scheduled meeting where the ChromeOS user is the meeting host, because the app launches without the user's RingCentral Meetings credentials.

The use of the PMI is high in our business (for users with traditional Mac/PCs), as it functions similar to a telephone number. Our sales manager can start his PMI at any moment and easily have the sales team join without a new meeting ID.  We need the same ability with our ChromeOS devices.

The limited functionality of the Chrome OS RingCentral Meetings app does not exist in Zoom. Starting a meeting with the PMI appears to be supported (though I haven't tested.)
