Can co host functionality like is present in Zoom be added to RingCentral Meetings?

This would help to produce better, more professional Meetings. Allowing the main Host to share production responsibilities  (like mic muting and camera control) to a assistant within the Meeting. PLEASE PLEASE!! THIS IS ALREADY A STANDARD FEATURE IN ZOOM, YOU JUST HAVE TO ADD IT TO RINGCENTRAL MEETINGS.

This is also available in the GoToMeeting products, and is definitely needed in RingCentral meetings!!

I was also a GoToMeeting user and relied heavily on the co-organizer feature.  We would have used it this morning with RingCentral Meetings if it were available.

I agree, a co-host function would be nice.  It would also be nice to have the ability to turn on and off chat for the group.

Thank you for your advice. We will provide the feature: Co-host in December.
Until then, you can visit meeting setting page (https://service.ringcentral.com) to enable the feature.

Where exactly do you enable this?  It does not seem to be available on the website

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Is there a way to set an alternate host to a meeting?.

For instance, I'm unable to attend a meeting that I have scheduled, but there is another person in my department that can fill in for me.  I could quickly access my meetings app, select the meeting, and add this person as an alternate host.  They are then able to start my meeting in my place.

The co-host functionality is great, but making someone a co-host still physically requires the original host to join the meeting and set that person.  Why can we not have an "alternate host"?  This is someone you set to be able to host the meeting when it is scheduled.  That way in case of emergency, there is always a host to a meeting.

Matt - appreciate your feedback, thank you. Alternative Host feature is currently on the roadmap for 2H of 2018.

I don't have an exact release date yet but as we make progress on our projects for 2018, we will communicate a better estimate of a release date.

Hello Beth!

Thanks for checking in!

We still hope to get this feature before end of year but I don't have any better date for you yet. Thanks for your patience.

The co-host feature is a start. Its enabled now in my instance (Meetings - Meetings Settings), but the problem is that the co-host can only be assigned as the meeting is in progress. Is there a way to turn on a feature that allows you to set a person as a co-host upon creating / scheduling the meeting? Again something that GTM does as a standard.
Let me know if I am mistaken, but I couldn't find where to do this.

Thanks.

The co-host ability before the meeting starts is essential. I cannot give up my other tool until all typical functionalities that business users require are available on RingCentral meetings. It's very challenging to get user buy in when key features are missing.

We are in need of the ability to set a co-host when for times in recurring meetings the originator isn't available.  We do not want to have to reschedule the meeting.
