RingCentral Meetings App Enhancement Request: Integrate changes made to single occurrence of recurring meeting in Outlook plug-in

When I schedule a recurring meeting using the Outlook plug-in, it shows in the RingCentral Meetings App. However, when I change a single occurrence, that occurrence does not integrate to the App. I cannot start the meeting from the App. I must start the meeting from Outlook.

Hey Denise, what kind of changes did you make?

I changed one occurrence of the meeting to a different date and time. The meeting was originally created as a recurring meeting in the RingCentral Meetings App. The change was made in Outlook. After the change, neither the non recurring occurrence or the recurring meeting displayed in the RingCentral Meetings App. Also, the option to cancel the meeting in the Outlook plug-in did not appear. The meeting still existed and we held the meeting but neither the Outlook plug-in or the Desktop App seemed to know about it. I had to choose Schedule a Meeting in Outlook to get it to show up which assigned a new URL.

Hey Denise,

I just tested this with the following parameters:

1) Set up a recurring Meeting via the Outlook plug-in
2) Changed one of the occurrences to a different date and time

What happened: I was able to start the Meeting from the Desktop app by clicking the Start button - even after changing the date/time of one occurrence.

So, I'm thinking something wonky must have happened because I did not experience the same issues you did. If it happens again, I would definitely suggest opening a case with Tech Support so that they can take a deeper dive into what might be going on :)

Thank you. I appreciate your assistance. However, the description on my original post is inaccurate. Here are the steps:

1) Create recurring meeting in RingCentral for Windows Desktop App (not Outlook plug-in)

2) Change one occurrence of meeting in Outlook plug-in to a different date and time

The meeting that triggered this request showed in the Outlook calendar and I was able to run the meeting but it no longer showed in the RingCentral for Windows Desktop App. Furthermore, the Outlook plug-in no longer recognized it as a RingCentral meeting.

I logged a case with support, 09305717. They said they confirmed the behavior and that it was as designed. They recommended I submit this as an enhancement request. At the time, I did not realize the recurring meeting was not showing in the RingCentral for Windows Desktop App. I thought it would show up on the day of the meeting. The real problem was the recurring meeting no longer recognized itself as a RingCentral meeting.

I have been unable to reproduce the behavior where the recurring meeting disappears from the Desktop App. Although the single occurrence does not recognize it is a RingCentral meeting, that does not matter because the recurring meeting is still a RingCentral meeting and is showing in the Desktop App.

That's really weird, Denise :/ I also cannot replicate the issue. Please do let our Tech Support Team know if it happens again and I would suggest documenting the process and outcome as much as possible :) Screen shots are always helpful!
