RingCentral: Please change the overly complex password policy!

I have a numeric password that would be impossible to guess and is 6 characters long.

I can work with making it longer. But no repeating digits? That's silly!

I work in IT with a high level of admin rights - so I am familiar with what constitutes a challenging password and what is overkill.

On top of it, after having such a bizarrely complex password rule your password change screen recommends using a "birthdate" or "anniversary" - two items that are well known, super-hackable options for passwords.

8 digits is a bit much in my opinion, but especially no repeating characters is quite silly.

Definitely shouldn't be telling people to set passwords to personal dates that are readily available on the web.

Thanks for the suggestion. Agree that our password requirements need an update - and the good news is, we have one coming. RingCentral accounts will soon support alphanumeric passwords. They may be enabled on your account now, in fact - try resetting your password and see if the wizard prompts you for an alphanumeric entry. NOTE: moving forward, all password resets will require you to set up an alphanumeric password and a separate numeric-only PIN.
