When a text message is logged in Salesforce it is not given an Activity Type. We would like to be able to pick what type of Activity Type the text message is logged as to align with out current activity tracking within Salesforce.

Hi Jake,

Yes, currently we don't have such feature in our app. May I know more details on this? That could help us understand the use case and figure out solutions for that.

So you like to select the activity type for logging the text. Which types could it be your choice? Could it be a custom type?

You mentioned about activity tracking in Salesforce. May I know how does it work and how could our Call logs and Text logs help in the system?

Thanks,
Albert.

In the activity section, there are littly symbols (images) based on the activity type. An envelope for emails, a phone for phone calls. Can you create a little symbol for text SMS messages? A little conversation bubble symbol? Sort of like the same symbol as Imessaging or What'sApp uses?

hi Julie,

“Call" is in fact a 'subtype' of Task entity, defined by Salesforce. I am not sure if an admin could add some custom types in Salesforce Object Manager (take a quick look but could not find the way).
But as a CTI we should not be able to do that.
