Shared Line and Cell-Phone ringing at same time

I am on an office plan. I have a shared line at my regular office and my home office (same phone number) but want my cell phone to ring as well (all three phones ringing) on an incoming call. I am usually in the field, but reception in front of my computers is weak, so I want to use the desk phones. I imagine it's a small tweak to allow for a cell phone to ring with the shared lines, as this works on normal lines. Not sure why a shared line feature complicates this and takes away the cell phone ringing feature. I just signed up and it seems I'll have to cancel it all unless I can get this working. I was told this would work by multiple reps, but after a lengthy setup process (11 hours and counting of time on the phone, it still is not up and running and they suggested I post here). Help!

Hi Vartanian,

Sorry for all the confusion.  It's correct that what you are wanting to do will not work.

Shared lines are not designed to work in different locations locations as the group only supports one e911 address.  Because of their intended use they do not have the other available call handling rules to do what you want to do.

Sorry if everything was not clear or properly explained but shared lines are not a way for users to have multiple phones.

It is designed for “public” phones (non-user) and do not include all the features.  A good example would be a warehouse with a bunch of phones around the perimeter.  These are not assigned to a person.  A single (or multiple) DLs can provide service to many phones in the group.  But these lines can only carry one call per line.

A better solution might be to purchase 2 DLs so that you can get the call handling rules that you need.
