There should be a short code to access voicemail from another device. Currently if a user is away from their physical device, they have to rely on voicemail to email or the portal, instead of checking from another phone. Any solution for this in sight?

Right, but a short code would be easier. Something like *99.

Short code would not be easier. The person knows (or ought to know) their own extension#, and if they're checking it they shouldn't be picking the call up on themselves before it kicks over to VM, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Consider the amount of keypresses.
Dial extension, say 1001, press *, enter PIN. total keypresses: 11
VS
*99, dial extension 1001, dial PIN. Total keypresses: 13

JD, someone else could easily pick up the call when calling yourself to check your own voicemail. Consider waiting through several rings (dependent on settings) in reaching a voicemail greetings when there could be a back gate to avoid an unnecessary call. Key presses are inevitable part of checking voicemail from a device instead of relying on voicemail to email or portal.

Shenay,

Based on your ORIGINAL question...here is the answer from RingCentral support articles. You later bring up about short codes, however this is the answer to your original question.

Checking voicemails over the phone

You can check your voicemails using your mobile phone or landline phone (non-RingCentral phone) by following the steps below.

NOTE: If you prefer to check your voicemails using your IP phone, see RingCentral Phones Function Keys: * and # Codes for more information.

1. Call your RingCentral Main Number or Direct Number.

2. Enter your extension number as soon as you hear the ring. If you are calling your Direct Number, go to Step 3.

3. Press the star key (*).

NOTE: If you do not have a greeting in your extension, press the star key after the 2nd ring.

4. Enter your PIN followed by the hash sign (#) once prompted.

5. Listen to the prompt for instructions or press One (1) to listen to your messages. For the list of commands, go to Options when listening to a voice message over the phone.
