Simultaneous Ringing Issue

I have my calls ringing to my desktop app, my phone and my mobile simultaneously (I want to be able to grab it quickly). However, I had a problem on two occasions this morning when my desk phone rang once and then went straight to VM. After troubleshooting, I realized that my mobile was not turned on (I had forgotten to plug it in last night) and the calls were getting 'trapped' by the mobile's VM, i.e.because the call was going direct to the mobile VM, my desk phone was ignored. Has anyone encountered this and have you come up with a work-around -- other than making sure your mobile is charged up?

It turns out the only way to really prevent this would be to make sure the phone is powered up as you stated. When your carrier sends someone to voicemail the call is essentially answered by their voicemail system, which is why it will stop ringing on any other device you have set up on RingCentral.
