When someone texts the Main number, we should have the OPTION to route that SMS or MMS to all/multiple users at the same time. That way multiple users can respond to 1 text conversation with the same caller ID. Vonage currently has this feature.
hopefully im not way off base on this but i dont think the main number is supported for that at this time. i think its more of the direct dial numbers, if the main number is able to be used im pretty sure whoever signs in under it would then be sending the texts, except when you log in it asks for company number & extension or direct number, so someone else with more knowledge is going to have to chime in.
With respect to what Vonage offers; yes, they can do that with the main number, but each user has to select the main number as their outgoing CLID. And, when they have the main number selected as the outgoing CLID, any text sent to their DID never gets delivered, plus they can never send their DID as CLID. Also, if a user (such as the owner) wants the main number to be their outgoing CLID, but does not want to ever receive a text message on their APP - they will get them whether they want to or not. But yes, they can support multiple users in 1 text conversation!
