I'd like to use the RingCentral PC Softphone application with the speaker and microphone connected to the computer.

Is that possible and if so how do you set PC as the current location?

Hi Randy, I would not recommend this configuration as the computer mic is not really good as is the speaker.

A headset with a softphone is always recommended.

But it can be done but do not be surprised if you are not happy with it.

Just install the soft phone on your PC and it should detect the mike and speaker

Thanks

I found what I was looking for.

In RingCentral Softphone Options, Dialing there is an option for make the call using Softphone but it's greyed out for me.

What RC plan do you have?

You need to associate the softphone in your account with the digital line

then re-start the soft phone and you should be good

Chuck
So frustrating that it is so hard to find step instructions how to "associate the softphone in your account with the digital line"

Sure you say to do it but not how.

Way to freaking big of a pain when I upgrade a computer to get it working on my new one.  Unassigned old computer is easy but to assign my new computer WTH?  No instructions anywhere.

I cant find anywhere in the admin to assign my sophtphone  and it will not do it when I log in on the new computer.

No step by step ANYWHERE  on how to transfer computers with softphone.   Should be automatic if I log on to another computer.

Wasting so much time..  arg
