Need ability to program speed dial numbers on the web portal for each account.  Much faster to enter.  And if you change phones, you won't need to enter all the contacts again.

USA-based acct | 2287 Users | 3800 DID lines | 28 sites | all Polycom VVX500 phone handsets

2018-04-04    You can already do that by adding those as Presence --- Saadet posted a link earlier today for how to program and use Presence.  Depending on what type of phone handset you have - I am not sure how many you can add to other phones but you can have 10 additional lines (besides your own 2 lines) show on Polucom VVX500 phones.

NOTE::: You do need to have Admin Level access to do that on other phones than your own handset.

Hi T- REX,

Here is the article that Cecile mentioned regarding Presence :)

Presence seems to be different. That gives me 6 slots on my deskphone (VVX311), two of which have my own name on them (lines for me to use), so only 4 other dial-by-button spots. What I've always had on every other phone system is the ability to dial a number, e.g., 4, hit enter, and have it dial the person in slot 4 on my speed dial list. Usually, I can program up to 99 of those, each w/ a 1 or 2 digit speed dial extension.

Does Presence let us do that? I don't see how, at least not yet. Thanks, hope I'm missing something obvious.

Tak IT gave the correct answer below. However, you are confusing the terms. "Presence" is the ability to see the "presence" of another phone on your system (a co-worker, etc.) What you are referring to are simply Speed Button keys when they are used in the manner you want to use them. Presence doesn't allow you to do anything other than see if another user on your system is on the phone, or not (also known as, "BLF" =  Busy Lamp Field)

@ Alex

There is no way to program an external speed dial to the phone's line keys via the web portal, unfortunately. It would need to be done manually on the phone by long-pressing an available line key, waiting for the contact details to show up on the screen and filling out the relevant information. Presence = internal users.

Agreed, though - being able to add speed dials to external numbers from the portal would be incredibly useful.
