Developing a way to remove the tax computation from tax exempt entities to alleviate calling every month to refund taxes.

When an account is created for a tax-exempt organization (religious, government, charitable, non-profit, etc.), RingCentral currently applies the federal, state, and local taxes and fees on any of the service fees and product purchases made. The total amount is then charged to the credit card or payment method. Afterward, the organization's administrator will make a call to RingCentral's billing department to request that the taxes and fees be deducted from the payment and refunded to whatever credit card was charged. This is done after every payment, usually monthly, and requires a half-an-hour call and a few days of waiting before the money is back in the credit card account.

Could we please avoid all this recurring wasted effort, time, administrative cost, and aggravation on all parties involved by just (1) having a different billing process for tax-exempt customers in which (2) only the service fees and product purchases are charged to the credit card? (3) The waived or exempted taxes and fees can be posted separately, if they need to be computed at all (nominal) but they shouldn't be charged on the credit card. This does away with all of the repetitive effort and unnecessary costs by the customers, RingCentral, and the financial institutions.

Apparently, they have not figured out how to do that yet, and quite frankly it isn't that difficult.  As much as my staff likes this service, I refuse to waste an hour of my life every month to get a $13. tax refund. This billing system is a huge downside to this product, and in my opinion gives the company a very unprofessional image.  I am researching other options, much to the dismay of my staff.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled tax exempt status? ......

Does anyone else struggle with the fact that, in this day and age, RingCentral's software is unable to recognize a customer with tax exempt status? .....
