Text Message notifications

Just wondering if there is a way to bring prominence to how the user is notified of a test message on the softphone? Currently a text message is received and the only notification we get is the Windows 10 notification in Action center.  I know we can set up emails as well, but that is very annoying if you are having a conversation with someone.
I see you can set an audible notification, but it is tied to where your speakers setting is pointed. In our case the Speaker setting is set to Headset as I want to hear a caller through the headset not the speakers when talking on the phone. To hear the audible ring for a SMS through the headset it needs to have an open channel all the time, which is not a feasible thing to do when idle (and a waste of battery).
So maybe some custom sound settings for SMS that bypass the general settings? Also maybe automatically bringing softphone to front and/or opening from taskbar when text message arrives? Maybe even highlighting/blinking the softphone in the taskbar if its not up and the main focus.
Currently the only way to tell if a message has arrived is to remember to look at softphone or windows action center when you return to your desk.

I am having the same challenges.  As I am speaking on my soft phone with a client, I am hearing the dings from text notifications and it is very distracting.  Is there any way to change this to default to only send a screen notification if a call is engaged?

Hi Kim,

It's a bit of a workaround but while you're on the phone, you can flip this Setting
