Re faxing via email - the subject line of the email is displayed in the comments section of the fax cover page. Is there any way to also have the text of the email printed in the comments section of the cover page?

Hi Al,
Unfortunately, we don't have this functionality yet. But, I'd like to see it and I'm sure others do as well.
Right now, the entire body of the email is omitted as you can only populate the Cover Page body using the Subject line of the email message.
I've submitted this to our product team.
Community: If anyone else would like to see this please +1 this post (I did.)
Thanks.

Please add this simple functionality.
The body of the email should be the body of the cover sheet.
the sent fax should look something like an email.

Hi,
I notice this is still an issue. Any chance for an update as to when this will be updated? I have customers where this is becoming a real issue.
Thanks

I used to use myfax.com before switching to RC. I really miss that feature a lot!
Please design a new fax form that puts the body of my email in the coverpage comments/notes section. This seems like a very basic feature and is very helpful.
Thank you.

I'm looking for this feature as well and it's inclusion may determine whether I continue my trial or not.

I will not go with Ring Central if this feature isn't added. eFax has it.

Even their cheaper competitors such as onlinefaxes has it. This is essential. Shouldn't be that hard to implement, please do it ASAP!!!

I'm adding in that this is a much needed, seemingly simple, feature to add into the software. Even an option to include the email Body or not would be super. Perhaps even one template that does include it as a choice. Would love to know when this will move from Under Consideration to Planned Update!

I have waited months for this essential feature to be implemented. I'm going to now start the process of finding and moving to an alternative service. It's too bad, because RingCentral's fax quality is quite high.

When I fax from email to 0123456789@rcfax.com, the fax received is missing the body of my email. I'm not sure when this started (it wasn't previously like this however long ago), but I noticed for the first time today. I'm a long-time, basic user of the fax product. Maybe it's a setting issue?

I just joined the ringcentral and hit by this non-sense. Can you recommend other companies offering this feature? Clearly this is a design mistake and I can't believe the ringcentral has not done anything to correct this problem until now.

I just joined RingCentral and it looks like this feature has been suggested for over 2 years without any action by RingCentral. I also need the Email Subject to be somewhere on the fax confirmation. I guess I'll look at Fax87 and MetroFax.
Suggestion to RC: Maybe you should implement these issues before a year goes by and your support blog is filled with plugs for your competitors. Just sayin.

Thanks for your comments Chris. We have a steady stream of features in the pipeline at all times. We currently have over 500 suggested ideas and feature requests here on the Community and our Product Team reviews these continuously in an effort to benefit as many people as possible. I too would like to see some more enhancements to the Fax integration.

We've successfully been using RingCentral for about 5 months for our small business, having migrated away from actual fax machines. I like the service a lot. But I just discovered that this small but important feature isn't included. And now in reading through these threads and comments, I see that it's at least a 2-year old issue that is unresolved. This isn't a hard fix, either. And because of the kind efforts of many others here, I now know that it's something available from other providers. So we'll be looking at alternatives very soon. This is ridiculous.

You're welcome. I know it frustrating when there's a feature you are looking for that hasn't been released, but our developers are working pretty fast. I usually don't know what's coming until a few weeks before release but to get an idea of past features I've archived release updates on this page for everyone to view. RingCentral Release Notes Archive
If you take a look at a few, you'll see they are moving pretty fast. Most releases go out approximately every 8 weeks as long as things go as planned, so you'll see reports approximately every other month. And, as Chas mentioned below, it does help if everyone clicks the "Like" button on the idea topics that they want most.
Thanks!

I use QuickBooks and Outlook to send invoices, statements, etc. I had been using RC Fax to send to customers without email addresses, believing that the body of my message was appearing on the cover page of the fax. This is not the case. This would be a huge boon to QB users so we don't have to log into RCFaxOut to send messages.

Sorry there's no ETA at this time. The best thing is for everyone to continue clicking the Like button above. Our Product Team does not have time to respond to all Idea topics here on the Community, but they do read these posts and receive reports.

It seems ridiculous this has not been implemented. Seems like a SIMPLE fix, and would be HUGE for people wanting to send quick, short faxes! My business relies on RC fax, but this has been an issue since we signed up years ago. PLEASE FIX!

Sally, we have same thing. We rely on RCfax. We have sent many faxes considering that email body will be transferred to a Fax. Needed to fix ASAP!

My frustration brought me to this search result. I don't see why this is so complicated to implement and fail to believe they are working on it. Should be a 10 minute programming fix. Every other efax solution can include the email body as the cover page. This is a feature that is essential to maintaining the efficiency we need in a modern work environment. Now I have to attach a separate document just to say what I typed in the email. Please fix this.

Two things.
1- It is apparent that the RC execs do not listen to customers.
2- RC communications are VERY poor, everything is self serve, They should be continually sending emails to customers reminding us of the current features, how to use them, AND what's being worked on.

Hi alex d ,
We receive hundreds of new idea and feature requests on a regular basis, and our Product Team does not have time to respond to all of them. However they do read the ideas submitted here on the Community as well as receive reports on a regular basis. They are very informed and aware of ideas such as this. On our support site there is a link to the most recent release notes. You'll find that many of the new features have been a result of requests received here on the Community and other sources.

Each time there is a new release, our knowledge base is updated with related help topics on those new features.
If there's ever a feature and related article that is not clear, or you need more information on, you are welcome to post here for additional information, or if you just want to comment on the article, there's a field at the bottom of each page like below.

I am new customer that only uses the fax service. I would like to suggest a couple of tweaks that would improve this service:
1) The "To:" field of the fax cover (when sending from email) should only list the fax number. Not 1234567890@rcfax.com
2) Again when sending from email, the body of the email should be included as a page of the fax. If I need to send a customer a document to sign I would like to type a short email explaining what I need and have it included in the fax.
3) Allow additional emails addresses in receiving fax notifications. I only see the availability for one email to receive the notices but would like to add another.

With regards to #1, I did discover that if you use the format "John Doe <15851234567@rcfax.com>" the To: field gets "John Doe". That's nice.

On #3, you can have notifications for to multiple people. After you've typed in the first email address just enter a semi-colon (no spaces) and start typing in the second, and so on.
