One of the main reasons I am implementing and IVR is to block telemarketing calls, which seem to be a snowballing issue. I'd like my inbound calls to be handled as follows:
  • Blacklist - do not accept or hangup immediately.
  • Whitelist - transfer call to a default agent immediately.
  • Unknown caller - play menu, connect or hangup depending on response
  • No response - hang up

I'm changing this to an "idea" topic for our Product Team to review. It would be nice to have this functionality.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Block calls: Import Blacklist.

I would like to cut down my telemarketing calls by using a third party "known Telemarketers" file - perhaps thousands of records. Currently there is no facility to import blacklist records. I'd like to have an upload blacklist numbers capability.

you could use this new info here: https://consumerist.com/2015/10/21/fcc-now-sharing-weekly-robocall-complaint-data-for-use-in-building... to automatically filter incoming calls for ALL ringcentral users, or allow us via a checkbox in settings, to use the info to automatically block these types of calls.

Not trying to cause trouble, just trying to make this an awesome system that we can sell easier to customers.

I'd also like to see some integration with TrueCaller as well.   www.truecaller.com
