For the love of god, write the log view page such that even with a 27" 1080P widescreen monitor, one does not have to scrooooool the tiny view back and forth to see the log info. This isn't 1995.

Hello, are you referring to the Activity Log?

That's the one. Specifically on the Detailed view, the Result field is alllll the way over on the right. It's a serious annoyance having to shuttle back and forth and trying to keep each line separate. Especially with 6" of unused screen on either side of it. Same in Chrome, Mozilla and IE. One can download it or such and view it otherwise, but still.

Ah, so maybe dynamic columns, a la Smartsheet, that can be moved around. Good idea.

That's one way. But the basic HTML when well done will account for screen resolution and make use of it, while not cramping those on a small monitor.
We've been down this road with our own website with varying degrees of success, but it's perfectly possible. I don't often see it anymore since widescreen format monitors became the norm years ago.
