We would love for our front desk phone, a Polycom VVX 411, to be able to transfer to voicemail by being able to use the buttons on the Expansion Modules sidecar.  Right now the only way to do it is to hit *0 and then know the users extension to be able to transfer to voicemail.

The sidecar should be able to work as an extension of your desk phones presence ability and be able to work as a speed dial to whatever extension is there.

It works as a speed dial to call the extension YES... It does not work as a substitute for typing in the extension when transferring a call to vmail (blind transfer) OR when trying to intercom that station. FOr Example.. if reception wants to intercom station 102 (which is me) she cannot hit intercom and the button for me on the sidecar, she must hit intercom 1 0 2.  Likewise when sending a call directly to vmail, she cannot hit transfer *0 and the sidecar button for me, she must hit transfer * 0 1 0 2....
Unless there is a programming issue.. I see a lot of people with the same problems on this community.

That STINKS... because it is the whole reason we use the sidecar....
what a waste.. .it is ridiculous that it cannot work that way

Are you kidding, this idea currently only has 2 votes? Literally every office with an old style analog phone system would want this. How stupid is it that you have a state-of-the-art VoiP phone on your desk and you have to have a printed extension list next to it to reference. COME ON RINGCENTRAL! Stop working on whatever you are working on and finish the basics!

Yes, the side car was a complete waste of money. You can't even  use it as a list since it doesn't show numbers. And what is worse, you can't learn where everyone is on the sidecar as the people move around when you rearrange/add people on the HUD screen. So no matter what you try, you still come back to typing in the extension number. I realize that this system is built for mainly using the app, but for large companies that still have switchboards, it is really not a good system.

A simple VM transfer button in general would be nice. One that's on the desk set not on the softphone or based in the glip / ringcentral app.

You may want to take a look at an attendant console.  Bridge Operator Console provides these features for users, and is designed for front desk works, making it superior to a desk phone.
