When transferring a call on a Polycom 410, I am unable to use the presence buttons to direct the call; it always brings up a full screen dialing prompt. Is there any way to not have to dial their extension, other than navigating menus and setting up contact directories? Skipping the dialing prompt until a button is pressed would be ideal, if that lets me press the presence buttons.

This is what I wanted the soft buttons to be able to do as well but apparently they cannot do that.  They are only monitoring those peoples lines and also a shortcut to call them.  but you cannot transfer using them.

Yes, you have to dial the extension. The link below shows the procedure.
With Presence, how do I transfer a call directly to voicemail?

You can transfer a call directly to a voicemail by performing a blind transfer.

To transfer a call directly to someone’s voicemail, perform a blind transfer and use *0 followed by the extension, instead of just the extension:
• Polycom: Transfer -> Blind -> *0 EXTNUM -> Send
• Cisco: BlindXfer -> *0 EXTNUM -> Dial

OK, spent hours on support with this and they came to the same conclusion.  I was not content to give up as this seemed stupid.  I found a simple solution and it does work as most people would want, you just need to know how to do it.  With that said this only works for BLIND TRANSFER but it a start.

While on a call that you want to BLIND TRANSFER simply hit the HOME BUTTON and the PRESENCE screen will pop up.  Just tap the person to transfer to.  DONE.

This info needs to be shared with support and added to your documents on how to transfer a call.

Would be nice if they expanded this so when you tap a persons name it popped up a few choices.  VOICEMAIL, CONSULTIVE, CONFERENCE.  But it is a start.  Maybe Press and HOLD.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled How do I answer an incoming call to my desk phone from another users desk phone?.

If I am helping a co-worker at her desk and my desk phone rings I want to be able to pick up my incoming call from her desk. I don't want to transfer my line to hers. Is there a code to pick up an extension?

If you have presence enabled, meaning your name on presence on her phone, then you would be able to pick up your ringing desk phone from her phone. You will need to go to your extension and click on Phones and Numbers. There will be a presence option, click on that. Then click on the permissions tab and add that user as one who has permission to answer your ringing phone. On that users phone go to the Phones and Numbers and click their presence and add your phone to it. This will let you see your name on her phone and if your phone rings you will then be able to answer it from her phone.

Joshua - Your reply only relates to a comment on this thread from Renee posted a year ago.  Please read the actual topic.  Please understand that it is the issue in the topic that most of us have been talking about here and that we would like to see improved.

In todays day and age of iPhones and computers it makes more sense to transfer via name buttons vs having to try and remember an ext #.

You may want to take a look at an attendant console.  Bridge Operator Console provides these features for users, and is designed for front desk works, making it superior to a desk phone.
