Transferring a call but then speaking with both parties before hanging up

I often have to transfer a call to a different party but speak with both parties before disconnecting. Example:

Party A calls in to speak with Party B. I call Party B to make sure they're available, then I want to speak with Party A AND Party B ("Hi Party A, you're now on the line with Party B") and then hang up. I can accomplish this using the conference feature on the desktop phone (Polycom VVX 310) but not with the RingCentral App. If I use the conference feature on the RingCentral App, connect the callers, and then hang up, it disconnects everyone.

Is there an easier, better way to accomplish this?

Have you tried using the PARK feature?

No, I've not. Would that allow me to speak with both people at once?

Quick answer - no.  After reading the other responses, looks like you're looking for the traditional "three-way calling w/consultative hold" - therefore, my PARK suggestion is moot.  When you say 'RC APP' - is that the desktop or mobile APP?  I know you can mimic the "three-way calling w/consultative hold" feature with RC's desktop's FLIP feature.  It may as well work with the mobile APP - I just have not tested it.

Quick answer - no.  The only way it works on the RC4W APP is to select "promote a conference call" radio button, after the formal introduction.  Although it works similar to the full featured desk phone, and allows you to hangup after your formal introduction, both parties will hear the conference call prompt.

My suggestion w/the PARK feature was based on the assumption that you wanted to insure Party B connected with Party A.  Which Park would do - but w/o the formal introduction requirement.

Disregard my post about FLIP - it doesn't apply and I must have pressed my return key before posting my other response above.

Hey Sarah,

Is Party B within your company? Or are they outside of your company?

Yes, within the company. So transferring to an extension.

Hey Sarah,

Have you tried a Warm Transfer when using the desktop app? You can also do a warm transfer on the desk phone :)

Yes, I can do a warm transfer but that does not allow me to speak to both people at once. I can speak to Party B, go back to Party A, and then transfer...Unless I'm doing it wrong.

Hey Sarah,

Nope, looks like you're doing it correct. For some reason I was under the impression it would have all 3 people on at the same time but looks like it doesn't work that way. My apologies!

Hi Sarah, RC is developing a solution that does this and more. It's actually their conferencing feature you already have. RC is adding the ability to see who is on the conference bridge and give the user the ability to kick people off the bridge. In your scenario, you can do everything you want to do now with the promote to conference feature. you can also get back into the bridge simply by clicking on the promote to conference button again. My company is a BIG user of the Conferencing and we do exactly what you are describing day in and day out. It's called the Boss/Admin features that RC is working on. if you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me.
