New Log in Screens

Q & A
Can a user use multiple emails?
No. Currently re-design is set up with a single email field that is associated to a specific extension. Only 1 email per extension is permitted.
Does this work globally?
Yes, emails from around the world can/will be recognized.
What if a user has more than 1 account and the user tries to log-in with the same email across both accounts?
Currently, everything will default to the first account where the email was used during set-up. Using the same email for a different account should not work. We are still in the process of working out details to tackle the issue of multiple accounts.
Is this update user-level based?
Yes, administrators and end users will see the new ways to log in.

You really don't have to do anything. This is to log in to the user account. Obviously there is no "user" per se for your lobby phone and you can change the settings from the RIngCentral Admin Portal. Additionally, any account/extension can still be logged in on using the RIngCentral number and extension, plus the password.
But, for example, if John Jones has an account and wanted to log in using HIS email address, he could do so with either his digital line or the main number with his extension.

As long as your SSO provider supports 2FA, then yes - the authentication and token generation is all done on your SSO provider's side. So for Google accounts with 2FA, it would present you with a Google login window which would then move to the 2FA verification window after putting in your password correctly. After that it should redirect you back to RC and log you in.

For any RingCentral user that is logged into their account, and then navigates to community, the single-sign on process will be pretty transparent as it will create your community profile based on the data in the actual RingCentral account.
If you've created a Community profile already, and want to make sure your Community posts and profile match/link to your RingCentral account, just make sure the email address matches in both locations.
How do I change my email address in my Community profile?

Is there a way to disable this feature on an account-wide level?

If you don't have unique email addresses for all users, just continue to log in with the phone number like in the past. Or, you'll just need to add unique emails for each user.

The Ring Central SWA Okta app continues to be broken. We can not get it to work consistently using either the phone number or email address in the username field.
What is happening is the username field is not being replaced with the current number assigned to the Okta app when going from one account to the other. It retains the old number and fails to login. (This is true even when logging out of Ring Central using the Log Out option.) It worked perfectly up until this email login feature was enabled on 2/2, thus my desire to switch it off on our accounts. I did place a call to support who said that was not possible.
Anything you can do to escalate this and help us resolve this issue would be much appreciated.

The email as login ID feature should not impact SSO.
Email as login ID is not enabled on the individual account level, rather it's a feature/option up to any user who wants to make the email as a login ID.
Would you please share more detail how it is broken in your SSO flow. For example, on the SSO page, what email did you enter? Did it bring you to the IDP login page? If yes, after logging in IDP, did it bring you back to RingCentral with any error?
It will be helpful if you provide some detail. For the privacy, you can send the email to tony.li@ringcentral.com and matthew.hunt@ringcentral.com instead of posting any detail about your account here.
Thanks,
Tony
