Shared Lines: Visibility of "Calls On Hold" on all hand sets

We have 3 Cisco 303 hand set phones.  We have 3 Users / lines.  We have 3 staff in our office.  We would like to be able to answer a call from any handset, be able to place that caller "On Hold" and allow any other phone to be able to "Pick up" that caller and speak with the caller.

How can we do this and have the visibility to see on the other handsets that a caller is "On hold?"  Thx Mark

Sounds like RC's shared lines.  But you need to check with your rep b/c I'm thinking you need polycom phones for that.

To answer your other questions - set up presence keys on the phones.  Need to make sure you have a set that has enough keys.

It does indeed sound like you want shared lines. Danno is correct, only certain phones support this feature. You can view the link below for more information. We do highly recommend that you have a discussion with your account manager about this. If you set up shared lines, then it removes other functionality from the phones.

Only Polycom desk phones: 321, 335, 550, 650HD, VVX-310, VVX-410, VVX-500.

Oh, and phone rentals are not an option for Shared lines (if applicable).

While it's not a perfect solution you can park the phone call ( press ##*3 ), which will place the caller on Hold and announce to you where the call is parked. Let the other office worker who will take the call know where the park location is (i.e., *833). They simply have to pick up their phone, dial in the park location and they will be connected.
