Over the last week or so, I am suddenly receiving voicemails that are silent. I'm getting about 15 a day. The strange thing, I'm receiving them on Extension 1 and not getting the call 1st. Let me explain:

- My main 888 # is being called and I'm getting a silent voicemail on extension 1
- RingCentral is setup to call my mobile if someone chooses extension 1 in the phone tree
- My mobile is not getting any calls
- I tested my phone tree and if I select option 1, my mobile does indeed ring.

What could be causing this?

I tried to call ring central for support, but I guess they no longer provide phone support. I sent them an email, but haven't heard anything in 2days. Maybe Ring Central is getting a little big?

Anyway, any help you could provide would be great. I'm getting all these emails all hours of the day.

Thx.

Hello Bill.  Sorry to hear of your troubles.  You can open a support case at https://success.ringcentral.com/RCContactSupp or send me your contact information directly.

Sean, what was the solution?  I'd like to call ringcentral and tell them what to fix.

I've been getting tons of these. Even if you turn on the voice screening, they leave a blank name at the prompt and it still allows them through. They are not willing to help mitigate the problem.

I think it's a scam RingCentral itself is pulling to pad their bills.

I'm having the same issue.  It seems to have happened over the last few weeks for me. A lot of blank voicemails on my personal cell phone.

Anyone figure out a solution?  Please post it.  Very critical this gets solved.

I've spoken with them at length about making sure that empty screener messages don't get through. They apparently have no interest in solving this problem. It's been on my to-do list to leave RC for a long time because of this issue, it's just a pain in the *** to move. Will be getting around to it soon.

Thanks.  I think my issue is a bit different.

I get a call to the toll free number, I miss the call on my cell phone, it gets routed to another line, and then it comes back to my cell phone.

However, I'm noticing a lot of voicemails I get on my cell phone are completely blank.

If you try calling the numbers back, are they real phone numbers? Because our issue is blank voicemails coupled with spoofed numbers -- when we call them back, those phone numbers don't even exist, but we're getting charged for them anyway, even if they leave a 5-minute-long blank voicemail to an international line.
That is what I get....either a ring tone or blank 5 min voice mails

Is there another service out there that we can all go to and keep our phone number?

I can tell you that I have toll-free numbers with AT&T...on a NON-RINGCENTRAL system... and this happens to me. Blank voicemails, middle of the night, spoofed caller-ID from non-existant numbers. This is NOT some "RC scam" to pad bills. These are bots that are dialing into systems... for what purpose I am not sure. But to all of you who think moving away from RC will solve the problem... it is UNLIKELY. The spammers will just continue to do the same thing no matter what system/carrier your lines are handled by.

Scot

This did not happen until I changed the name of the company over to name that included my name. So for over 4 years with the same 800 number there were very few spam calls. This seems to be new phenomenon for me at least in last 10 months.

Thanks for heads up on AT $T  Sure would be nice if ring central was able to do something about these calls. They are getting more and more active.....like 5 a day.

I'm sure the blank calls in the middle of the night are due to spammers to auto spam calls and have nothing to do with RC, any other service would get the same.

You can just turn off voicemails from midnight to 6am if it really bothers you.

I just delete any spam vm msgs I get.

I love RC service so far

Whatever they're due to, the fact is that RC's call screening process -- where someone is supposed to leave their name before being forwarded -- is doing nothing to remove the fakes, and we get charged for them anyway, even if no one picks up the phone.

They need to put some better security measures in place, and/or stop charging their international users for forwarding spam calls. I don't care about the calls themselves, I care that I'm being charged international forwarding fees every time I get one and it rings my phone while I'm in Europe.
