We have multiple Vtech conference phones including the VCS754 with six microphones.  Onssip, callcentric and nextiva all have setup instructions for these phones, but I've only found one posting that the user said they couldn't get it to work even with RC support assisting.  Can you provide setup guidance?

Hi Reenie Scott,

You can learn more about setting up a third party device by checking out this KB Article.

Hey Aaron,

That sounds like something on your Network is blocking the information that is trying to come from RingCentral's servers. I would suggest making sure you have your Network set up according to these guidelines.

Hi Saadet,

All of my network setting are correct. I went over everything with a fine tooth comb and I can see nothing that would be blocking anything from Ring Central. The phone worked fine for months and then all of a sudden it stopped, at which time we were able to get it working again and now it has stopped once more. Not sure what is going on.

Hey Aaron, did you verify that you have all the IP addresses listed in the document whitelisted on your network? Also, do you have an "Any" rule set up on your network? Those often cause issues with communication.

Also, you could always check with VTech's Support - they may be more familiar with setting up their devices with a VoIP company like ours - maybe there's something that got missed or a piece of information that was placed in the wrong field when provisioning, which is now causing it to not communicate properly.

Hi Saadet,

I have made sure that all of the IP addresses are whitelisted and there are no rules that would be blocking any communication for the phone. We did get on the phone with Vtech support and we were able to do a packet trace that showed the request going out to Ring Central but nothing coming back from Ring Central. Again this phone was working for a long time (several months) and then stopped working.

Hey Aaron,

That's frustrating....when it comes to 3rd party unsupported phones, usually the issues people run into are Network Related. We do our best to help with provisioning these types of phones but sometimes there's only so much we can do. You could try opening a case and sharing the information you found with us and maybe we can help but, again, there are no guarantees since it's an unsupported phone.
