As a business that relies on Ringcentral SMS heavily for communication with our customers, changes like these annoy me, but we should expect no less from the telcos. They're just going to drive more people to data based messaging. Of course AT&T seems to have led the way here - no surprise. Imagine the uproar if they suddenly started limiting their cellphone customers to 100 texts a month, but you all make easy targets to extract $$$

I just want to thank you all for going the extra mile to anticipate and absorb a lot of the pain that this could have caused your customers with the registration, fees, paperwork, etc, etc. Plus your rates for even low volume are at a level many require a much higher volume for (4 figures). So while the monthly financial impact for us is the cost a lunch, just another reason to loathe AT&T, Verizon, and their ilk.
