"Feature not available" in Sandbox SMS app

I'm having some trouble running the code given in the SMS quick start. I followed the guide all the way through. It successfully logs in, but when the platform.post() is executed it returns "The requested feature is not available". The permissions granted in the app include "SMS". Are they any key things I am missing?
