CNAM during porting. Why to use Super Admin name?

After request for porting for some numbers initiated, RingCentral using Super Admin's Name as a CNAM for these numbers. That affect all calls from these numbers showing Super Admin's name instead of actual/desired name. Why don't you have a field for that and use it for an appropriate CNAM? It really confusing users when call shows wrong person's name. Again, this is ONLY for internal Ring Central users. We have multiple sites and each of them has different CNAM, such as 'Building A', ' Building B', 'Building C'. I porting multiple numbers from all of them. Multiple numbers from multiple sites are scheduled/pending for porting. Now when someone call from these numbers Super Admin's name displays for CNAM! WHY???

RC only supports a single CNAM (Caller ID) per account.  There have been many requests over the past several years for them to start supporting individual CNAM per phone number, but they have not provided this yet.

We have had to split several of our company phone numbers off into separate accounts only for the purpose of ensuring we have different CNAM for different buildings/departments/locations/etc.  We have also been able to set different CNAM using "Multi-Site" mode, which may be the option you are looking for.  Turn this on by selecting:
"Phone System"
"Auto-Reception"
"General Settings"
change the "SIngle Level" drop down in the top right of the screen to "Multi Level"

Then use the "Tools" - "Multi Site Settings" option to configure your different buildings and different CNAM (Caller ID).

Thanks.

It won't help. We can't change/remap existing extensions...

Hey Ruslan,

I confirmed with our porting team that if you open a ticket with Support Tier 2, they can manually change it. All they would need is a listing of the numbers along with what CNAM to assign to each.

Hi Jessica,

Would your porting team implement this using the Multi-Site method or do they
have some other means to assign different CNAMs to different numbers?  Thanks

Hi Venus,

I suggest for you to create a support ticket about this. Tier 2 team will be able to assist you with assigning CNAM to your numbers.

Thank you Jessica.
Now, question is: How to contact them directly or how to contact right person?

There's no way to get straight to Tier 2-- you'll need to create a support ticket, and then advise that you're wanting to have CNAM changed.I would recommend starting a case online instead of via chat or phone. You'll have to explain why you want CNAM changed for extensions in question. Your case will then be escalated to Tier 2 and processed :)
