Ring Group Set up Use

I have spoken with two RC Support people and have conflicting answers to the following.

Is the RC Phone application required to be used when I want to use the Ring Group feature or can I still just use the RC Desktop application?

Hello Kerry, it will work for both RingCentral phone and RingCentral Desktop if you do have a digital line. Thank you!
