Using a RingCentral number for 2FA/MFA SMS

Hi,

We would like to use Google's 2FA SMS feature with our test accounts, but don't want to use individual phone devices.

Is there a way to use RingCentral to provide a shared phone number we can use as the Recovery method for all our test accounts.

Would it be possible to then have the text messages sent to a Slack channel?

Thanks!

You can provision a Ring Central number without tying it to a physical device. From there, you can give a user control over this number, and explicitly give them SMS message permissions.

Inside Glip/Ring Central App, you can view any text message this number receives, including 2-step auth codes. Also inside the app, I think you can allow multiple users to view the messages sent to a number.

If that doesn't work, you can also set up a shared email inbox for all your staff members, and forward every message the number receives to that inbox. This option is under the "notification" settings for the phone inside Ring Central.

Email me if you need a walk-through. My email is: caeakins@gmail.com.
