Can a line/key be set-up to direct dial as an intercom?

Executive and assistance are only to users in intercom group, versus dialing the code and extension, can a button be set to dial between them? using VVX 350 and VVX 450 device

Hey Mike - yeah, this can be done. You just need to enable the intercom on the devices and allow the users who need to utilize the intercom. After that, you need to create a custom speed dial on the phone and enter *85*[ext] as the contact #. So, if the extension that you need to intercom is 300, it would be "*85*300" as a saved contact on the device.

The caveat is that it requires at least one presence line available on the Polycom phone. You can also edit the macro code via the phone's web interface so that it doesn't use an additional line on the phone, but that just depends on your comfort level with making changes to the device.

Also, forgot to mention (although I'm sure you're already aware of this), but when we add the speed dial, we do it by "pressing and holding" an empty line. That way, the user doesn't need to search via the directory and it simply displays on their main display.
