What happens when I change device's type from SoftPhone to OtherPhone ?

Hi folks!I’ve a quick question:What's is the difference between OtherPhone and SoftPhone device ? What exactly happens when I change Softphone’s device type to OtherPhone and what side effects I might expect ?I’m building a feature which only works with OtherPhone devices but most of my clients has only SoftPhone device, I’m asking to change their device type to OtherPhone, but some of them worried and refusing, I did some research to know its side effects but wanted to learn more from community as well!Thanks in advance!

How to fetch the SMS received on numbers?

Hello,We are using API’s to send SMS to our customers? We also need to see the SMS that customers are sending to us. I don’t any API or webhook details to achieve this task. TAS-106 Operation is not allowed.

Hi there,I’m trying to work with the RingCentral API for Call Control and have the following snippet of code:answer_path = (f"/restapi/v1.0/account/~/telephony/sessions/{session_id}/parties/{party_id}/answer")answer_body = {"deviceId": RC_DEVICE_ID}ans_resp = platform_rc.post(answer_path, answer_body)Unfortunately, I get an HTTP403 error with the message TAS-106 “Operation is not allowed”.  I made sure that I have Call Control selected in my Application Scopes and that the JWT I created included that scope. Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can get to the bottom of this issue?  Are there other tests I can run or settings to check? Thank you, Jeremy.

Cannot send sms from main company number

I have a production app working and it can send outgoing sms messages form all my numbers properly, except from my main company number. I have search around the forum and found several references that state that you have to use the operator extension that is defined in your IVR - which I am doing. But i am still getting the "Phone number doesn't belong to extension" error message returned.Is this a possible problem with Multilevel-IVR? or does anyone know of a possible other issue that I may be missing.

API Integration to Automatically Pull Daily Call Recordings to Store Locally

We have recently run into an issue where we needed access to a call that was older than what is available to view in the Ring Central Admin application. Is there a way for us to use this developer console with our internal IT team to query for the daily recorded calls and download those files to store locally?

See all active calls in a campaign

I am having the hardest time with what seems like a very simple API call.I am referencing the following documentation and was hoping someone could provide clarityhttps://developers.ringcentral.com/engage/voice/guide/dialing/active-calls/quick-startAll I am looking to do is pull a json on all the active calls for a campaign. I have the node sdk installed and the environmental variables set with my app.The culprit is likely the account ID, what is that and where do I find it?I have tried using ~ and it does not work. I get a 404 not found status.

Call Details for Outbound Campaigns via API?

I am having trouble figuring out how use the API to get the call details like success/failure, duration, etc for outbound calls that are made using the call list and campaign section. We load the call lists, run the campaign, and can view the call details in the “Interaction Details” dashboards in Ring CX Analytics. But we need to get these call details brought back into our system via API. I am using the platform SDK, Postman and CURL and the developer test console with the same results all the time. Which phone app to use to enable call control?

Looking for developer to import call logs into Google Sheets

I'm looking for a developer that can help me automate importing of call log details into a Google Sheets. oau-250 Error with JWT authentication flow

I am getting the OAU-250 error when attempting the JWT Authentication Flow. I am basically using CURL to attempt this. The curl options are:"–X POST -D \"\" --header \"Accept: application/json\" --header \"Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded\" --header \"Authorization: Basic " & $basic  & "\" --data " & $data $basic is a base64 encoded combo of clientID:clientSecret$data is "grant_type=urn%3Aietf%3Aparams%3Aoauth%3Agrant-type%3Ajwt-bearer&assertion=" & $jwt$jwt is the jwt value we received in the rc_credentials.json file for the application. The app is private and is configured for JWT auth flow and issue refresh tokens is set to Yes. The application scope is set to read accounts and ringout.What am I missing?

Internal Server Error 500 while trying to sent an SMS

Is There a URI Scheme to go to SMS conversation in RCApp ?

I see lots of other schemes for various functions in RCApp, but not to get to SMS?https://developers.ringcentral.com/guide/basics/uri-schemesIf there isn't one yet, I really think it would be nice to add something similar to this:rcapp://sms?number=<phone number>that would bring the RC app up to the conversation with the phone number, or if one doesn't exist start one.

Routing calls based on Salesforce data

Hi! I’m relatively new to the RC community and I wanted to share my use case before implementing and get your feedback. BackgroundOur system runs on the Salesforce platform (Custom Objects and Account/Contact only) so we leveraged the “RingCentral for Salesforce app” which works pretty well. The different users are given a RC phone number and an extension to connect the softphone with RC and everything is fine: they can handle inbound and outbound calls, records are properly updated etc. Also, worth to mention that the users (around 100) are grouped in 20 different teams, and a user can belong to more than one team. Our clients are served with a specific team which is assigned at the beginning of the onboarding process. The information of the team allocated to a specific client is stored in Salesforce. Inbound Company calls to the right teamWe want to receive inbound Company calls in a unique phone number (RC handled) and based on the caller ID, reassign the call to the corresponding t

RC integration into CLIO Manage is not working

Hello, I cannot get RingCentral calls to log into my Clio Manage through Microsoft Edge or through Google Chrome browser extensions. It will not save them to CLIO. I have the extension and both RC & CLIO connected but nothing.   What else can I do?

Softphone Offline & 403 Forbidden Error When Supervising Calls With Supervision Demo

I’ve been trying out the RingCentral Supervision Demo, and I’m not quite able to get it to work. When the app gets to submitting the supervision request and calling /restapi/v1.0/account/~/telephony/sessions/${inputParams.telSessionId}/parties/${inputParams.partyId}/supervise, it’s not able to work due to a 403 Forbidden error.The supervisor device is a softphone that is an “Existing Phone” device set up manually using SIP. Its status is always offline on the admin panel, no matter whether I’m running the app or not. Is there a way to turn the softphone on?

Is there a test environment in which I can test out the APIs?

RingCentral APIs are designed to be used and tested directly in the production environment. There is no technical requirement for a separate sandbox or test environment in order to explore or integrate with the APIs.If you'd prefer to isolate development activity, using a separate developer account is an option. Whether or not to do this is entirely up to your personal preference or your organization's policies. Some developers choose to create separate accounts for development and production use cases, while others use a single account for both.This streamlined approach allows for faster iteration and eliminates the complexity and requirement of managing different environments for testing and production, unless you want to. Historical NoteIn December of 2024, RingCentral retired its developer sandbox environment. This change greatly simplified the process of producing an app. As a result of this change, the legacy concept of "app graduation" was retired.

is there a way to filter call logs

I wanted to filter call logs to see the waiting time before the client hung up. The thing is, even if you can create KPIs or tables to see something similar, you can’t use them to see the waiting time for each call received, and that is what I want. Also, the only way I found to see the details of each call is on the performance report tab, but I can’t export the settings that I want, even if I can see them on the web tab. Is there a way to export this or use KPIs on this tab, even if I can’t see where I can use or choose it?
