Setting up phone numbers to receive text messages

If your team doesn’t need to send SMS or text messages, you can still configure specific phone numbers to receive text messages without completing the TCR registration process. You can set up numbers to receive two-factor authentication codes and other necessary text messages in the Admin Portal. NOTE: If you’d like to change a phone number already linked to a TCR registration to only receive and not send messages, you must first remove that number from the TCR registration. Setup phone number to receive SMS/text messages onlyTo turn the Inbound SMS feature on for phone numbers:Sign in to the Admin Portal. Click the Phone System tab. Go to Business SMS, then click Inbound SMS. Click the button under Select phone numbers to choose the numbers you want to enable for inbound SMS. Click Add numbers in the popup window. You can click Remove if a phone number should stop receiving text messages.NOTE: You can’t remove phone numbers that show Not yet ready or Removal in progress under Status.S

How do we turn off the AI assistant for all users at once? ...it’s causing a lot of call disruptions and we don’t want it enabled by default.

Cursor Focus Issue When Starting New Text Message in Web App

Hi RC team and fellow users,I’m writing to flag a persistent UX flaw in the RingCentral web app that slows down high-volume SMS workflows.When I click the “Send New Text” icon (speech bubble + icon on the left pane), the modal that appears defaults cursor focus to the “Text From” field instead of the “To” field. This is counterintuitive. I rarely change the sending number and would argue most users don’t. The natural first step is to enter the recipient, yet I’m forced to manually click or use keyboard navigation to get where the focus should’ve been in the first place.This adds friction, especially when sending dozens of texts daily. It’s a small detail with a compounding cost in productivity.Feature request: Either change the default behavior so that focus is placed on the “To” field upon opening the modal, or better yet, add a user preference to set default cursor focus between fields.If there’s an existing workaround or custom script others have used to fix this, I’m all ears. Voicemail Message Length

Over the last week, people calling me can now leave 10 or 15 minute long voice messages if they want. For years, there was a 3 minute time limit and the message would get cut-off, which I prefer. How do I go back to only allowing a 3 minute max voice message?

I have one Yealink phone already set up with a phone number and would like to have another Yealink phone (not the app or softphone, but physical phone) at home to use when working remotely ring with the same phone number. Is it possible to have one phone number set up to ring on two different phones?

pickup parked calls

We setup call park groups and they have always worked. Now, we are seeing most calls are able to be parked but then we cannot pick them up on the desk phones and receive a message that the call is no longer available even though park button is still flashing and person who parked the call can still pick it back up so we know the caller did not hang up. HELP!

Block Robocall to Auto-Receptionist

How can I block robocalls from routing though my auto-receptionists? We are getting hundreds of robocall per week that call into one out our auto-receptionist numbers and just press “0”. I know how to block robocalls at a user level, but I need to block them at a company / auto-receptionist level.

Callrail Whisper in RingCentral?

Hello, trying to find an answer to a question here about whisper messages in RingCentral. I don’t mean whispers as in those used for live call monitoring/coaching. We use Callrail for numbers that forward to our RingCentral numbers for each of our different businesses. Example: Callrail #1 (Google) → RC Business A NumberCallrail #2 (Social Media) → RC Business A NumberCallrail #3 (Social Media) → RC Business B NumberI’ve messed with display settings for the call queues to display the proper information (with the help of the community already) but the issue now is that we are missing the whisper message once the call is forwarded to the RC Number. Since Callrail numbers #1 and #2 both forward to the Business A number, we are losing the ability to correctly attribute the lead to a source. I’ve spoken with Callrail, according to them the whisper message is still being played. That would indicate that the whisper message is playing before the scheduler can pick up the call on the RC side.

TCR Registration problem (rejected too many times).

TCR Registration problem (rejected too many times).I am writing to express my frustration regarding the repeated rejections of my SMS TCR registration. Despite following the guidance provided by support team in detail during multiple calls, where I was assured that my submission met the required standards, my application continues to be rejected. This has become a very frustrating and time-consuming process, with each rejection presenting a new reason after a review period of approximately 20 days.The most recent rejection cited the following:"DCA2 declined sharing request for campaign C5S6IMG. Explanation: Unable to verify, needs compliant and accurate CTA information. Update with specific path for mobile opt-in, HELP instructions, STOP instructions, message frequency disclosure, "message and data rates may apply" disclosure and link to the message program privacy policy, or language referring to the privacy policy. Call queue calls showing as missed when another member of the call queue answered the call

Hi, we have set up a call queue with several agents. Even if an agent answers a call, the other agents in the queue show the same call as missed. Is there a setting that can be activated so all of the call queue agents show the call as answered?

How do I stop getting calls when I'm not working

How do I stop getting Ring Central calls when I'm not working? I've tried putting my phone on "do not disturb”, turning Ring Central notifications off in my phone settings, and creating focus groups on my iPhone to not have Ring Central notifications come on. Nothing works what do I do??

can a caller transfer themselves to another extension

With other systems, I was able to leave instructions on my outgoing voicemail “For more immediate assistance, dial # (or a number) to be transferred to the receptionist”.  Can you incoming callers transfer themselves to another extension when they get my voicemail?

How do I add more than one extension for receiving faxes from the mainline

I currently can only add one extension under the “Deliver faxes to” section in from our main fax number. I need to add more than one user to be able to receive mainline faxes. Whats the best way forward for this?

auto print incoming faxes

I had RingCentral set up so that when we received a fax it auto printed. I got a new computer with Win 11 Pro, reinstalled RC and now I cannot find an option to auto print. I have consulted with 2 different RC reps, neither of which could figure out what is wrong. One rep I spoke with said on his version RC had that option, so my guess is they took out the auto print feature? I am running 23.3.23.8166 Windows (x64). Any ideas?

Sent a fax using Faxout. 15 seconds later tried to send another fax. SEND NOW button inactive.

As stated in title. I entered a fax to send into the FaxOut feature. I pressed the send now button and recieved the confirmation message.  Immediately wanted to send the same document (a credit reference sheet) to another fax number.  I entered the destination fax number and selected the document. The SEND NOW button was now greyed out.  Nothing I try has worked to allow me to send another.  I am the admin for our system, so I checked to make sure I am enabled.  I am still enabled. Nothing changed that I can tell, yet now I can no longer send a fax….  Help?
