Role Changes for existing user

If you have an existing user who is setup with Role - standard(international) access then you modify the user Role to only have Internal access with desktop. The user previously had messages with external user they invited does the messaging with that user remain active when you change the Role to internal only ?

Can you clarify what permission you want to tweak?
When you say messages it sounds like you are talking about the chat and not about SMS.
There is a way to restrict chat messages with external users but as far as I know this is an account level setting and will apply to all users on your account. It is not possible to apply it to 1 specific user via a Custom Role.

You are saying you want to change the Role to Internal only. Can you clarify how you intend to do it - i.e. are you going to disable some permissions or enable a permission?

I am basically trying to understand what you want to achieve.
