What changed?

What changed? I could not start or join a meeting via URL today until I closed the old desktop app and quit the new app. Very frustrating and had to use a free zoom meeting to deal with a client earlier until I ambled around to a work around.

Our meetings just all stopped working within the past hour. Now there's no video button at all

Spontaneous behavior changes are disruptive, and I'm not getting any meaningful answers out of support.

At least you can contact support, every time I call support it's this whole big thing with our account doesn't exist, has to go to a specialist, etc.. What a mess

I was able to resolve the issue by uninstalling & reinstalling the RingCentral Meetings app.

@Craig and others, could you please share a screencast or  https://www.loom.com/ of the problem you are facing? This would help our investigations.

Not much to show at this point.




I exited both apps entirely.  Clicked the URL (from my google calendar or from a link sent via chat) and this time the meeting opened in the new RC app.

This is the first and only time I've been successful opening meetings in the new app.  (Which needs a lot of work).

While we continue to investigate this, it does seem like restarting both the apps (especially the new RC app) will solve the problem.

Interestingly, I didn't restart the old app at all, and it never opens up anymore when I click a URL.  Only the new app opens the meeting. 

Note:  The new app does some other weird behavior too.

i.e. 

  • if meeting isn't started by the host, my web cam is on while I am waiting but is instantly off upon join.
  • The opening of, end of, or closing of a meeting is very laggy and delayed. (the window hangs on "end meeting for all"
  • Normal meeting performance once the meeting is running.

Have you tried uninstalling & reinstalling the apps (both RingCentral Meetings and RingCentral/Glip)?  That worked for me and the other users in my company that reported the same issue.

I'm not even able to test at the moment, in both the desktop and web version of Glip the video icon disappeared around maybe 1PM MT or so. Can't even execute a video share/meeting

We have also problems all day long with this type of issue and we reinstalled the application which helped at first. But we are now at the end of the business day. I'll check on that again tomorrow.

Hi Alex, in case it helps: simply restarting the RC app should also work.

We tried different things, as for example re-login or restart the Laptop, all without success. I will give it tomorrow another chance if the problem occurs again.

I must be the only Glip only user (no RingCentral account). Something else very odd at the same time the Video/Meeting icon disappeared almost all of my Company Settings under Administration are gone. Compliance export, company settings, allowing guests, etc.. are just disappeared. Something is very wrong with Glip.

I did open a case earlier and haven't heard back yet
