I am not receiving text (SMS) messages at my Ring Central number.

Any ideas on how to allow text messages to come to my email or phone app? I can send but not receive. I have an number with extension, but also a direct dial number. Does it matter which number texts are sent to? I have text messages allowed in the admin settings.
