under User/Phones + Extensions, how do I remove a phone? There is edit but no delete

I need to delete this strange phone from a user's account. It's a random phone number that no one knows.

RingCentral Phone app(818) 935-5267

I put phone nickname as remove. HOw on earth do I get rid of this thing?

When you use the app RC gives you a random phone number. To put it in a basic explanation, each line you use with RC required a phone number. Your deskphone is you main number. If you want to use the app, well that needs a phone number too. Rather than charging you for another line, they assign you a random phone number to fulfill that system requirement. They don't charge you for it, and it doesn't get used in your account. However it is shown in your account profile as it is technically assigned to you.

Hopefully that makes sense.

if you're using the app, removing that phone would prevent the app from working anymore.

Taylor is absolutely correct. If you keep that number activated and try calling it, you will find it will ring the softphone....just as Taylor stated. I ran into that same situation a little over one year ago. Normally that number won't show anywhere on your account. Every once in a while it will....I can't tell you why and I don't think RingCentral can either. It's not supposed to show.

I looked for the KB article that explains this, but couldn't find it. It may also have been an email from RC a while back. Maybe Saadet can expand on it.

Hey Bray, in your account you can easily find that number under the Assigned Phone number section, which tells me that at some point a number was added to that softphone. I would double check with your Account Manager regarding removing the phone number, just in case it will affect your billing.
