2287 USA based users, 28 different sites,  3800 DID lines - all Polycom VVX500 phones

2018-12-19 In case it has not hit your account yet, the new updated Service Web Portal now requires additional drilling down to set the Notifications for a user extension being re-assigned.  We have several permanent phone lines as the main line for a department where the phone extension and DID line does not change when personnel changes  because it is published information on signage, directories and business cards etc. so we have to reassign the extension - changing the user name, password, PIN, and voicemail  and fax notification settings.

You now must change in 4 places every time,

Users Email,

Messages&Notifications > Basic and

Messages&Notifications> Advanced tab for Voicemail and again in a separate screen,

Messages&Notifications>Advanced tab for FAX  in a separate screen

THIS IS REALLY COUNTERPRODUCTIVE 



All notifications data should be able to be SET from one single entry point.

Thank you for the information, Cecile! We do the same thing in our company and I was not aware of this. I agree with you that all notifications data should be able to be SET from one single entry point.

I agree that the notification GUI is not terrific!  I could give you something to consider - if the permanent dept number was a company number - you could add number as DL to the extension of the responsible employee.  Then never change notifications again.
