Hello,

In my company, our EA & AA's need to be able to "dial out" from their Phones (Polycom VX410/411s) as if it is the Exec themself calling.  This is so the call recipient sees the Exec's CallerID and is more likely to answer.

Similarly, our Execs have 'private' lines that are not published, and need to be able to pick up that line and call out on it from time-to-time, but without placing two phones on their desk.  Asking them to modify callerID info before placing a call is not an option.

We had this functionality on our previous VoIP provider, with Polycom IP450's, so the ability to do so is there, just not implemented in RingCentral.

I would very much like to see the same functionality implemented with RingCentral.

We have 300+ lines in the company, multiple call queues and integrations.

05/15/2017 Caveat Emptor.... This could be problematic from a security standpoint, use-case:  dissatisfied worker able to pose as manager, director or company officer.  Were this a RingCentral option, we'd seek a way block it for all 2000+ users in our organization, we presently have 3800+ lines..

Similar to Presence, it could be limited/controlled in a two-way fashion such that only the specific people who are authorized to call as the exec have the ability, as well as the exec's profile granting permission to the EA/AA to call as on their behalf.

Similar to how MS-Exchange & Google Apps can be configured in a manner that allows EA/AA's to send email either as or on behalf of the exec.

We'd still block that for security reasons.   Our organizational model just would not fit that.

Take the number away from the Exec's extension.
In Auto Attendant, make an Advanced Rule that points that number to his extension (so anyone that calls in will get his desk).
Then, on his extension you can go to Outbound Caller ID and set it to be that number still, so it appears that when he calls out it's coming from that 10 digit number.
Now, since it's a Company Number and not assigned to an extension, EAs and AAs can change their outbound phone number (at least in softphone) and choose that phone number.
