Sometimes, due to the nature of particular calls, we get rather long voicemails. When using the mobile app as my primary "phone", it is difficult to listen to voicemails that happen to be longer than my device's display time-out setting. If my screen times out during voicemail playback, the voicemail stops, and I have to start it over.

For example, if my screen is set to turn off after 30 seconds of "inactivity", I play the voicemail, set it on speakerphone so I can take notes if I need to, but 30 seconds in, the screen will turn off and the voicemail will stop playback. At that point I have to push a button to wake the screen and restart the voicemail.

I lately have had my time-out setting to 1 minute, but voicemails that are longer than that aren't uncommon. It is annoying because under any other circumstances, I don't like super long screen time outs.

This happened in android 6 (marshmallow) and now in 7 as well. I have an LG nexus 5X phone.

It would be nice if the app were updated to keep the screen on while VMs playback. Another solution would be to make it continue playback even if the screen turns itself off. I wouldn't mind giving the app additional device permissions if need be.

Thoughts?
