I would like to completely disable anyone from being able to call my RC number (and some of my users that requested it) without having to go through our phone menus and be transferred to one of the users.

The problem I am having (and several others) is that we were assigned phone numbers that used to be assigned to other businesses. For instance, my number used to be assigned to a plumber and some other manufacturing company in the area. I keep getting calls for plumbing needs and employee verifications. How do I stop my individual DID from getting calls from outside the phone system? We used to be able to do this on our old phone system but I'm not seeing an easy way to do this on RC.

Hello Robert,

The only way on the system to block inbound calls to an extension is to block individual numbers from the Screening Greeting and Hold Music tab for each Users individually. Or you can also block all calls while allowing specific phone numbers to come through. This would block all inbound calls, but would allow you to give permission to internal phone numbers to reach you.

The problem with doing this is that if a caller dials your main number for instance and is directed to several phones through a Call Queue or Ring Group, the call is not going to complete. Essentially only RingCentral phones who's number you specifically add to the system could reach you. I don't know if that would work for you or not.

The other option is to change the phone numbers that are assigned to your phones. If the DID numbers on the phones are never given out to your customers and they only call in to a few main numbers, we can change the DID phone numbers so that you stop getting calls from people trying to reach the other companies.

I hope this helps.

That isn't going to work. I need people to still be able to call me, I just don't want them calling me on my DID. Not sure why there is no way to do this. Our two phone systems we moved from both had these feature =\

Robert - I can convert this thread to an Idea, so that the Product team can review it as a Feature Request.
