I am pulling fax numbers from a published list, and I need to add the extension "@rcfax.com" to all of the fax numbers.  When I try to create or combine two cells to attach the extension, Excel will not allow it because it begins with "@".  Is there a way to copy/paste the extension without having to retype all of the fax numbers?

Linda,

To accomplish what you are looking to do, follow these steps:
1. Create a NEW column right next to the phone numbers. Call it whatever you'd like (i.e., RC Fax). Let's assume for the moment that your fax numbers are in column "C" (i.e., C2,C3,C4, etc.). Therefore your NEW column will be in column "D" in this example.
2. Use this formula in the FIRST cell of the NEW column: =CONCATENATE(C2,"@rcfax.com")
This will then take the phone number from column "C", then it will add (concatenate) the "@rcfax.com" to the fax number in the new column "D".
3. To do this to ALL your fax numbers, copy the cell in D2 (in this example. Yours might be different) and then select all the EMPTY cells in column "D" which correspond to a fax number entry in column "C".
4. Finally, paste (Ctrl+V) the copied cell and it will grab ALL the fax numbers from column "C" and add the @rcfax.com to them, creating your new column in column "D".

I hope this makes sense. It will definitely do what you want to do. I use it all the time. Let me know if you have any questions after you try it. Just read my instructions slowly and carefully and do exactly what they say (except for the column identifications) and it will definitely work.

Disclaimer: In these instructions I am assuming you know very little about Excel. If that is not the case, I apologize. I'd rather make is simple (K.I.S.S.) than assume knowledge a person might not have.

Linda,

Just checking to see if my explanation worked for you or if you needed additional assistance. Hopefully it worked fine for you.
