Feature Request: Mobile App connects with RC Web Account Contacts to allow Google Contacts to sync properly and name recorded calls.

Please allow for a sync of google contacts with the main RC account records on the account website so that the contact names also show up in the call logs.

Right now the mobile, desktop and chrome apps can all sync with google contacts, which is excellent.  They cannot, however, take any contact created in google contacts that were imported into one of platforms and have it show up properly in the call log/recorded call area of the RC website.

If you create a new contact from scratch in the desktop application, it will connect to the RC Website.  It is cumbersome to do this, if not impossible from an unknown text that comes in.  If you do create a contact manually that contact cannot be synced with google contacts or added to an already existing google contact (Cannot append number, the external application cannot be modified).

For any business user that originates and keeps all of their client contacts in google contacts, or any contact database that isn't RC, there isn't a good way to connect those contacts to the RC Website.  Not being able to do this makes it difficult to use the other wonderful automation features, such as a ZAP that can interact with the recorded client calls.

With this functionality, a user would be able to create a zap that takes all recorded calls from a specific client and moves them into a specific folder for storage that is connected to the client contact.

Really loving RC thus far, hoping for this feature to be added soon.

Hi Benjamin,

Unfortunately, this is currently not a feature. However, this may be a workaround for your issue. Have you tried downloading your Google Contacts to a .csv and then uploaded those directly into RingCentral web interface?

It is true, I am able to import all of my current google contacts into my RingCentral web interface with some manual work.  Not as easy as the mobile and desktop/chrome tools, but definitely possible.

The issue is, this is a one time upload, right?  Any new calls that come in after a manual upload would not be connected to the contact.

A user could absolutely schedule a manual upload once a week, but that would be cumbersome.  There is probably a way to script it, but it's more work than I am able to invest currently.

Please let me know if you think I'm misunderstanding your comment.
