Forwarding messages from gmail

I'd like to forward gmail messages to a team in Glip. The verification email from gmail doesn't show up in the glip email. Is it being blocked?

Hi Tim, can you provide a little more detail on what you are trying to do? And where you ran into trouble? 

Are you trying to just use a forwarding rule from Gmail to send all emails to a Glip team? I've done this successfully using Outlook so I don't see why gmail won't work either.   I had to create a dummy member with the new email address, and add that member to the team.

What is the email address it's being sent from?  And was that email address (user) added to the team?

hey this is a serious problem, we can't forward messages from gmail because when you add a forwarding address they send an automated email to the recepient email address with a verification code that we have to type inside of gmail. But that email does not show up in glip. 

EX: can't forward emails to all_employees@GLIPCOMPANYACCOUNT.glip... because the verification email does not show up in Glip... and so we can't type the verification code in gmail to successfully add the forwarding email address.

This is still a pretty new feature request that doesn't have too many votes yet. We do not have an ETA on if this may become available.

I would highly suggest Community Members who want to see this happen vote for the feature :)

Here is my workflow example that I cannot make work without this ability:

We use a project management / ERP system called Workamajig (Marketing agency software).  It utilizes a Google Apps account that we had to create specifically so the ERP could send emails to us.

When I need to perform a task (approve an invoice for example) - it sends me an email via this special Google account.

What we are trying to do is set up a forwarding address FROM our personal corporate email (also Google Apps) of our own personal conversation on GLIP.   But the email from Gmail that allows you to verify the email forwarding is legitimate is blocked because that address is not a team member. 

That email comes from:   forwarding-noreply@google.com   but you cannot add that address to your team because it is already a member of another team (I assume from either someone else who tried to do this or from GLIP doing testing.)

No way around this (other than to use Zapier) to get an email into Glip from Google.
