How can I modify the Polycom Dial Plan & Timeout?

Polycom phones support a complex dial plan that knows when to send the digits to SIP immediately (e.g., 911) and when to wait a few seconds to tell the difference between (for example) an extension and a partially dialed outside phone number.

I've tried modifying the timeouts through the Polycom phone interface but doesn't appear to have any effect.  Where can this be effectively modified for polycoms vvx phones on the Ringcentral system?

That's where "hot keypad" comes into play.  On an idle phone, just start dialing the number.  It allots plenty of time to enter the digits before lifting your handset or pressing the speaker button or depressing the DIAL soft key.  As a Lesdyxic person, I use my contacts (in RC4W APP) for the majority of my calls, but on those rare occasions when I dial manually, I have plenty of time to enter 10 digits accurately w/o timing out.

Hi Danno,

Thanks for this.  I hear you, but maybe it's different on the vvx601?  If I dial without picking up, it never goes through until I press the dial button.

But when I pick up the handset, that call doesn't go through.  I'm left with a dialtone.

Additionally, if I pick up the handset first, then dial, the timeout is identical no matter what I dialed.  I'd like to set some patterns like 911 to send immediately and others (like 4 digits) to wait longer than it currently does before sending.  This is a dialplan timeout setting on the phone, but doesn't seem to have any effect in RC land.

Understood and appreciate the feedback on that model - it will help when recommending which phone clients should select.
