Is it possible to force all calls to be routed to the main number? Example if we had a main number of 860-555-1212 and a user had a number of 860-555-1213, we'd want any calls that went directly to the 1513 number to be routed to the main number and have the called enter the extension.

Possible?

Yes this is possible. the best way to do this is to have that number that you want forwarded to be an additional company number on the system

Then any calls would be directed to the autoattendent.

That would be the best way. These additional numbers are $4.99 per month on the account

Let me know if this makes sense.

Thank you

Thanks Chuck - I apologize, but I'm not sure I understand. We have a main number and 25 other lines. What I'm trying to do when any of the 25 lines are dialed directly, have those calls handled by the main number and then distributed via the extension number (instead of the direct number).

Is that what you were suggesting?

25 separate phone numbers? Well, let me think about this for a few min

Is there a number I could call you at. May be easier for me to ask a few questions to understand what you are trying to accomplish

Let me know of E-Mail me directly

Thanks

Hi cmmathomps - it's pretty easy to have direct numbers (aka DigitalLines) route directly to your Auto-Receptionist. It sounds like your 25 existing lines are assigned to user extensions currently. If this is the case, go to each extension in Settings > Phone System and click Phones & Numbers. You should see the line there, under Direct Numbers - click it and set "Calls to this number will be connected to:" Auto-Receptionist.

He didn't ask about auto-receptionist.

Ben - I'm not seeing that option. Maybe it's because all but 2 of our numbers are set-up as "direct extensions"? For the main company number, I see the option to direct call to the receptionist.

Can you post a couple screencaps of your online account (Settings > Phone System > Users)? That will help me understand what you're seeing.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Hey, I'm trying to route all calls to one of the numbers, for the receptionist to....

I still want people with direct numbers to get direct phone calls, but i want them to be able to ring to the receptionist first. Also, how do i transfer phone calls? When i try to transfer the call to another coworkers extension, it replays the auto greeting. is it better to answer and put someone on hold, and call the ext. and let them know someone is on hold? please help? i'm trying to set up this sytem for only three phone lines but it's still complicated.

RC-Installer. I too am having trouble getting all new digital lines connected to the "Auto Receptionist." Our older 2008 lines are working just fine, but when I purchased a new digital line for our new rep in another state and tried to set it up as a "main company number" Ring Central Call tech support told me that your system no longer allows this and that there is "no way" for us to get new numbers setup as "company numbers" tied to the "auto receptionist".  It's a real problem because our new rep cannot route his calls to our other extensions without calling long distance to our main number.  What can we do?

Hey Everyone, I  just discovered how to set a line to the Auto Receptionist. Unfortunately, I can't do this if I've already ordered the line and it is tied to a user, but I can order a brand new line for our rep through the Phone system instructions I found on your site and this new line will be connected to the autoreceptionist. We use the Auto Receptionist for our main phone numbers that we setup with RingCentral in 2008 and we LOVE this feature, but the new system no longer allows us to add additional numbers that route to this system.  Is there a workaround for this problem in the new system? We have new people working with our company in other states and we need to have this routing feature available for their local areas.  We just purchased an additional line but are unable to route it into the Auto Receptionist feature.  Tech support told us that you no longer have this feature available for new phone numbers.  Can this be fixed soon?
