Open Faxes In, or Save Faxes... I would like to see the RingCentral app offer the "open in" option when viewing messages such as faxes etc. I would think I should be able to save a fax wherever is chose. Maybe I am missing something but what I have to do now is to view the fax, send as email to myself, then open it up and the select the box with the up arrow which allows me to open it in RingCentral app and then it saves it. Why do I have to do these extra steps? Please help. Thanks.

It may be as simple as a setting on your PC.  For me, I open the fax in RC, my PC asks if I want to open it in Acrobat, which I do, and once opened I can then I can save it to any folder on my PC.

Oh sorry, yes I think that does work on the PC but I wasn't clear with my question as I want to be doing this using my iPad or iPhone. Most of my business is away from a PC. Thanks.

I see what you are saying.  I think you are talking about incoming faxes, Is that right?  If that's the case, under NOTIFICATIONS you can set your faxes to automatically be sent to your email address.  Then you'll receive the fax in your email client as a PDF attachment.

You are 100% correct in that process. I'm just trying to save the step from then having to save that attachment to somewhere else. I was hoping RingCentral would offer that save to or open in option right in the message area. Also, it sure would be nice to be able to change the name of the fax. It's just how I see it in my business that would save me time. Thanks again.

I hear you and that would be nice.  I actually just use my own coversheet (created in Word) rather than using the ones provided by RC.  I know it creates an extra step in the process but [for me] eliminates the frustration.  I had the same issues years ago when I used WinFax Pro which is how I came up with the Word cover page.

I have not yet had a chance to try or test this, but I had a customer tell me this works.  Since fax attachments can be received at an email address, you can set it up to send them to DropBox where they are automatically saved. Hope this helps.

Drop box uses either your gmail or iCloud email for their address.  Meaning, it's not a separate email address. So every fax you send to this APP will also appear in your gmail account - double emails.  And, if you delete the email in gmail, it deletes it in this APP and visa versa.  It's basically another APP taking up memory on your device and a chance for drop box to sell you more storage space, which would certainly be depleted rapidly if all your faxes are going here.  But, it's a good choice for off site backups.
