My contacts in Outlook  does not sync with the Ring Central app.  When I am in Outlook, I cannot bring up all of my contacts in the Ring Central app. It only shows my personal contacts in Ring Central.

This is a great idea for people who would not want to pull up RingCentral desktop app just to call out. It's easier also if "click to dial" capability for phone numbers in Outlook contacts is added when RingCentral is integrated.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Outlook Contact Synchronizing for Outlook 365.

For our users, it would be very helpful if their softphone app allowed them to call/see their contacts from their Office 365 accounts, rather than just the contacts stored locally on their phone.

Office 365 contacts are business related ones, but in a BYOD environment, local phone contacts are typically personal ones.

Is there any plan to do something like this?

Hey Rupert,

Sorry for the delay! You will want to sync your Office365 contacts on your iPhone first - once you have done that, the RingCentral Mobile App will read and display those contacts.

Hi - I understand that will work, but I don’t want to sync my Outlook contacts with my phone. I just want the soft phone app to be able to access them, without syncing. It’s a personal device, and these are business contacts. Thanks

Hey Rupert,

I think there's been a misunderstanding. The softphone is the desktop app on your computer - not the mobile app on your cell phone.

Can you clarify what you're asking for?

Apologies - I meant I would like my iOS Ringcentral app to access my Office 365 contacts directly, without having to sync those contacts locally to the phone itself.  Does that help?

The app has a drop down selection at the top of the contacts tab, where you can choose "Company Directory", "Personal Contracts" and "Favourite Contacts".  Ideally we would be able to add additional integrated contacts directories, such as "Office 365 Contacts" to this choice.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Desktop App: Sync Global Address List Outlook Contacts in Desktop App Contacts.

US/Canada

User who is working with an Exchange account in Outlook, and has added all contacts into the Global Address List can sync contacts in Desktop App Contact List.

User can easily search their existing contacts within Desktop App after syncing Global Address List from Outlook contact for call, fax, and SMS.
